Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Matthew Russell is an undergraduate student at WVU studying Mechanical and Aerospace engineering.  He had Co-Ops in Fall 2017 and Summer 2018 at Perry Nuclear Power Plant helping identify and resolve single point vulnerabilities.  During Spring 2019, he worked on WVU's RocSat-C team developing printed circuit boards for the electronics.  During Summer 2019, Matthew started working in the navigation lab focusing on ranging and mapping sensor testing and integration.  In the following Fall, Matthew went on an internship work at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center supporting a Micro Fluidic Electrochemical Reactor project in its test stand build-up. He utilized 3D printing and Finite Element Analysis to support safe and successful operation of the test stand.  During Spring 2020, Matthew returned to the Navigation Lab.Outside of the work and educational environment, Matthew can be found hiking the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, swimming, skiing at Snowshoe, or tinkering with a 3D printer or computer.
