Uthman Olawoye
Uthman is a PhD candidate in Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University, where he works as a Graduate Research Assistant in the WVU Navigation Laboratory. His research focuses on developing innovative localization algorithms for autonomous UAV and UGV fleets operating in GNSS-denied environments. With a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from WVU and a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Afe Babalola University, Uthman has contributed to high-impact projects supported by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the Alpha Foundation. His work on cooperative localization methods is central to these initiatives. Outside of his academic pursuits, Uthman enjoys traveling, hiking, solving puzzles, and practicing amateur photography. These activities refresh his mind and inspire his research by offering new perspectives and a sense of adventure.
